MIS WEEK 5

Management and Information System

Week 5 Lecture.-

On this week's first lecture we learnt about IS Crimes, Security and Controls. This week we were taught about the threats of the companies which mostly are vulnerable to internal and external threats, security threats, hurricanes and many more. The most interesting part of this lecture for me were The Most Common Computers Crimes divided in two. Firstly the unauthorised people, who look through electronic data, some of them peek at the monitors, others intercept electronic communications and some of them are the thieves of computers or storage media. Secondly the Information Modification, where very high profile hackers gains the administrator's status and accesses electronic information such as call centres or sale of customer information. I liked this topic because it gave me the information on what are the threats of this and where do they come from so that in the future I do not make any silly mistake regarding this as this is very dangerous and can end badly. Overall it was an interesting lecture as Mr. Haider always tries his best to make it the less boring possible in what I  think he has been successful so far as I had no problem in understating what he was trying to explain. Hopefully looking forward to be learning more about such important stuff.

Week 5 Seminar.-

The session started with the entry of our lecturer  Mr. Bilal Haider who came to replace Mrs. Sussie s she was busy. Overall it was an interesting class because basically we did a quick recap of all the excercises we have done till now as Mr. Haider gave us the answer sheet to all those exercises to compare it and see if there are any mistakes to be rectified. I really liked it because after looking at the answers I was able to clear all my doubts and move on to other tasks.

Week 5 Group Discussion.-

As our classmate Jhon started his classes late he did not have any group so we decided to add him to our group. In this session we thought of the suitable questions to ask in the interview Charlene and Richard were going to hold on this Friday. After discussing on the questions we came up to 20 to 25 questions after looking at their website. Finally we decided to be in touch after the questions are answered to see what to do next.
